You can save a copy of your Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey or Firefox bookmarks to a file, using the Export feature of the Bookmarks Manager:
- Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey: "Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks... -> Tools -> Export..."
- Firefox 2 and below:: "Bookmarks -> Organize (or Manage) Bookmarks... -> File -> Export..."
- Firefox 3: "Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Export HTML...".
Note: In Firefox 3, "Import and Backup -> Export HTML..." will save a bookmarks file in HTML format which can be imported from any browser. ("Import and Backup -> Backup..." will save a bookmarks file in JSON format which can only be restored in Firefox 3.)
An exported bookmarks file can be saved for backup, in case of future problems with your bookmarks (see Lost bookmarks - Restoring bookmarks from backup). You can also transfer bookmarks saved in HTML format to another Mozilla application or profile using the Import from file feature of the Bookmarks Manager.
