==Background==
Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey can import bookmarks from the host OS (e.g., IE Favorites) so they appear under the Bookmarks menu. After the bookmarks are imported, this preference is set to true. This allows users to delete the imported bookmark folder (usually, “Imported IE Favorites”) without it being recreated the next time the browser starts.

This preference’s effects were previously governed by [[browser.bookmarks.import_system_favorites]] and later [[browser.bookmarks.show_static_system_bookmarks]].

==Possible values and their effects==
===True===
The system bookmarks/favorites have been imported; do not import them again.
===False===
System bookmarks/favorites need to be imported; do so and then toggle this preference. (Default)

==Caveats==
* This preference has no effect when [[browser.bookmarks.import_system_favorites|“dynamic” bookmarks]] are in use.
