It would probably be wise to removed tcptimeout as an example because it's usage has changed. Perhaps a fictional example would be better, or something which isn't likely to ever change.

Also, "However, prefs.js does not contain all preference settings, it only contains settings that have changed. It is also not as tolerant of user errors as the config editor, and requires you to learn where the profile is stored." doesn't seem quite clear enough. I'm not even sure the last phrase is needed, given that we have already told the user where the profile can be found :)

Unfortunately, we keep running into users that are unable to follow the instructions to find the profile, no matter how much we try to improve those instructions. I'll try to improve the wording of the paragraph.
Maybe resend directly to Profile folder - Thunderbird rather than to something (Profile folder) which has a link to it? — Tony 16:43, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Good idea. Done. I also added a link to Finding_the_profile_folder_on_Windows to See Also. Tanstaafl 19:14, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Can you elaborate on what you mean by the usage of mailnews.tcptimeout has changed? I know its no longer in the GUI, but the setting still seems to be used. Thunderbrid 1.5 is old enough that I don't see any problem removing all references to mail.pop3_response_timeout. Tanstaafl 23:04, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
