Browser.bookmarks.import system favorites
From MozillaZine Knowledge Base
Contents
Background
Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey can display a live, read-only view of the favorites currently on your system beneath the Bookmarks menu. This preference enables or disables that feature.
Possible values and their effects
True
Under the Bookmarks menu, display a folder containing the system’s current favorites.
False
Do not display the current favorites under the Bookmarks menu. (Default)
Caveats
- When this preference is true, browser.bookmarks.added_static_root has no effect.
- This preference has no effect in Firefox. For a similar effect, try the PlainOldFavorites extension.
Previous effects
Earlier versions of Mozilla Suite (0.9 through 0.9.8) used this preference to determine whether or not to import a copy of the system favorites as “native” Mozilla bookmarks at startup. After the import was complete, the preference would be set to false. (browser.bookmarks.added_static_root is now used for this purpose.)
