Background

Work was begun to support special output for text-to-speech generators. This work remains largely unfinished, but by populating this preference and setting accessibility.browsewithcaret to true, you can see output in the console window. As with accessibility.usebrailledisplay, if this preference is set to a non-empty value, additional event handlers are attached to windows for an “access proxy” to accommodate the external software.

Possible values and their effects

This string preference should be set to identify the text-to-speech generator being used. The example given in the source is “ViaVoice”. By default this preference is set to an empty string.
