Getting & Sending Mail

  • Cannot send mail; problems with outgoing server.
  • Error message when getting mail: "This folder is being processed".
  • Duplicate messages are received when downloading mail.
  • I receive an alert saying I have new messages, but no new messages appear in my Inbox.
  • When I forward messages, Thunderbird tries to forward the message in some weird sort of attachment that no one can read. It doesn't copy the message into the new message.
    • College students or others who use webmail interfaces tend to have this problem, as well as users of command-line clients like PINE and Mutt. The fix: Turn off HTML/MIME
