Talk:Using Outlook and OE contacts with Thunderbird or Mozilla MailFrom MozillaZine Knowledge Base[edit] Article feedback - Config EditorShould the article also mention using the Config Editor to add preferences and/or link to the about:config article? Right now, the only instructions are for a user.js file. I copied the following the MozillaZine Site Discussion forum topic, Knowledge Base - Help, Feedback, Requests. Alice 12:22, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
The main problem with the article is that it promotes using user.js, which is inappropriate for most users. If we get rid of that then we should explain how to add the settings using the config editor (rather than by editing prefs.js), leveraging Modify_Thunderbird_settings as much as possible. We could add a note about using about:config instead if you're using SeaMonkey. The reason for the Thunderbird bias is that SeaMonkey users are probably less likely to want to keep using Outlook contacts since they chose SeaMonkey over Firefox. Tanstaafl 07:21, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
