Using -no-remote

Using -no-remote isn't mentioned here and I just assumed that it only worked in Firefox and SeaMonkey 2, not Thunderbird. I was editing Opening a new instance of Firefox with another profile and Command line arguments to include SeaMonkey 2. I happened to look at the linked MDC article, https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Command_Line_Options and saw this:

-no-remote

Allows multiple copies of application to be open at a time. Firefox and Thunderbird only."

I tested -no-remote in Thunderbird 2 and it seems to work, since I had my default and alicew profile opened at the same time (each have different mail accounts). Are there any quirks I don't know about or should using -no-remote be added to this article, instead of using MOZ_NO_REMOTE=1 ? Alice 03:22, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

no quirks afaik. command line options are precisely the same as FF - except browser/mail specific options Wsm 03:47, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

I edited it to mention both, while trying to position using the environmental variable as the old way. I kept the old method since we don't know exactly when support for the command line argument was added, and there are several non-Mozilla applications that reuse the mail and news library.
