Should we have a little blurb on that Category page along the lines of "A powerful, extensible and fast stand-alone browser — formerly known as Mozilla Firebird or Phoenix"? Or is that a little, er, silly, given that we're deep in the bowels of the knowledge base? Maybe we could put the Wikipedia link in Firefox links and then add that link at the top of the Category page. Which reminds me, Firefox links and Links (Thunderbird) and Links (Mozilla Suite) aren't titled very well for use in categories because they're so undescriptive. Maybe something along the line of "Other sources of information on Firefox" would be better? Can you think of a good title? --wintogreen 02:24, 9 November 2005 (PST)

I hope not; indeed, I'm about to request that the new, category-oriented front page be made live, in readiness for the release of Fx and Tb 1.5 final! Only problem is, I don't know how to contact any of the admins! They've been pretty quiet around here recently. Any ideas as to who to contact? Indeed, and indeed! I would prefer it if Mozilla.com linked to the front page, once the new front page is up. For now though, we're stuck with things as they are. As for it being ugly... perhaps you'd care to style it nicely! Note that image upload has been disabled so that only one of the admins can liven it up with graphics. -Mozcerize 08:53, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Given that this is currently the point of entry to the KB for many new users, I have brought some of the introductory material from the proposed new front page over. Of course, this Firefox article isn't really a "section" as claimed, but I hope that it will help to orient new visitors (temporarily at least). Discuss. --Mozcerize 09:07, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Removed link

I don't know why " Firefox articles by component (e.g., sidebar, menus, etc.)" was removed as a link from this page. I think this latter organization is the most logical way to find help about a specific topic of interest, at least for the common user. Moreover, the Firefox category is not well-categorized (apples and oranges mixed together). Brettz9 04:52, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

We've had a lot of discussion on the categorization of the Firefox articles. There needs to be discussion before a major method of organisation is added.--Np 05:13, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Re-added FAQ link

On 11 December 2005, Np removed the link to the FAQ after he'd removed the FAQ itself. Alice Wyman restored the FAQ the day after. So I thought it's only consistent to restore the FAQ link, too.
