Notice that Firefox 3.5 and above support multiple keywords via the smart location bar drop down list,. You can select the one that you want to use. Quote from http://ed.agadak.net/2008/07/firefox-31-restricts-matches-keywords:

You can even assign multiple bookmarks the same keyword so one can be the default Wikipedia search and another can use I’m Feeling Lucky [google.com].

You can uninstall Show Keywords [addons.mozilla.org] if you’re using that for Firefox 3.

Thanks for that last change, just wiped out my attempt to reply, so I guess this will be shorter.

I have seen use of keyword (misused) as search terms on the AwesomeBar and highlighted in the results, but it has nothing to do with this article which is about creating Duplicate bookmarks, which is more difficult in Firefox 3 and was not a problem prior to Firefox 3.

Don't know why you are referring me to browser.urlbar... variables which have nothing to do with the referenced bookmark keyword property either since there is no varibable for a keyword restriction. The last asked for that I am aware of was "$" to restrict to tabs (Bug 480350).

None of your links, though good material, have anything to do with this topic about the creation of "Duplicate bookmarks".

I was referring to this part: A bookmark keyword has a one to one correspondence with a bookmark, so if you need two different keywords to refer to the same url, you must create duplicate bookmarks each having it's own keyword. A keyword is an alias for a bookmark.[1]

A bookmark has only one slot in it's database record for a keyword. It can chain through a bunch of tags in additional records, but tags are not keywords. And what you referred to as search terms are neither keywords nor tags, at least not in terms of bookmarks terminology. DMcRitchie 00:27, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
