We need a better name for this page. It is not solely about disabling XUL cache, it's about making Mozilla work with unjarred files. Any ideas? --Asqueella 17:36, 18 Dec 2004 (PST)

To Whom It May Concern:

I read the first paragraph of this page describing the problem of JAVA classes getting cached by Mozilla 1.7.3. However, I didn't understand much more than that. I rushed forward anyway to edit my all.js file in default/prefs. I couldn't find nglayout.debug.disable_xul_cache so I added this line and set it to false. Unfortunately, Mozilla is still caching my Applets. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks in advance from Colorado, Dan ziskin@ucar.edu 303-497-2924

Java and JavaScript are different technologies. This page is about disabling chrome XUL and JavaScript caching, that is the code that is responsible for Mozilla's mail/browser UI and operation.
Java applets are not related.
