Main titles ???

  • Why "only" after every app name?
  • What about chrome URLs for Thunderbird? For Sunbird?
  • What about chrome URLs common to several apps?
    • add-ons manager (Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey 2 "and higher")
      • Toolkit components (like the add-ons manager) will of course be available to all toolkit applications - Philip Chee 15:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC).
    • download manager
      • The toolkit backend is the same but each application can have a different front end UI - Philip Chee 15:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC).
    • bookmarks manager
      • Application specific - Philip Chee 15:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC).
    • etc.
  • There is no Calendar in SeaMonkey; OTOH there exists the Lightning extension for Thunderbird
    • The Calendar extension is still available for Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey 1.0/1.1. Lightning will work in SeaMonkey once tabmail and customizable toolbars land in 2.0a - Philip Chee 15:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC).
  • IIUC the prefwindow chrome URL is different in Sm 1.1.x (and earlier, and MozSuite) and 2.0 ("and later")
    • Please start a new section for SeaMonkey >= 2.0a - Philip Chee 15:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC).
      • I'd like to, but I don't think I'm competent. — Tony 13:59, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Maybe it would be better to make a single table, with more columns: one for each app ("yes/no", where Sm <= 1.1.x and Mozilla would probably count as one and Sm >= 2.x as another), then the two already present
    • Too complicated, but a separate section for toolkit chrome URLs would be useful - Philip Chee 15:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC).
      • Here too, I'd probably not know them all; the only one I'm sure of is the Add-ons Manager. Well, I think I'll start a few new sections with a prominent request to fill them in. — Tony 13:59, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
      • I don't think Camino belongs here. It's an embedded application and doesn't actually use chrome:// urls.
        • Ah, sorry; I thought it was a "lean and mean" self-standing browser for the Mac. Well, remove it then: "merciless editing" is a characteristic of MediaWiki sites. — Tony 20:16, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Ah Camino is a "lean and mean" browser for the Mac, but they achieve this by avoiding XUL/chrome and instead embedding the Gecko engine in a native Cocoa widget executable (I was using "embedded" in the technical gecko sense - like k-meleon (win32) and galeon/epiphany (gnome)) - Philip Chee.
    • Would it be possible to have an extension to find/list all chrome urls found in one's Firefox (et al.) and extensions and to identify the association with Firefox and extensions and whether active/disabled in a table, since tables can be sorted. Might also encourage extensions writers to document the chrome urls that they create. DMcRitchie 21:12, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
