sessionstore.js contains information on stored sessions. This information is used to load the initial state of the browser after closing and/or crashes. This functionality can be modified by Tools -> Options -> Main -> Startup -> When Firefox Starts for regular closes and by browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash for crashes.
Editing
Manually editing sessionstore.js is not recommended because its contents can be modified by simply modifying the open pages in the browser and closing.
The file's contents are in JSON format.
Moving
This file can be moved to a different profile without any extra effort.
Deleting
Deleting sessionstore.js will delete your saved session.
