Mozilla is a standard compliant browser. That means that it tigthly follows the standard from [http://www.w3.org W3]. Mozilla does not support scripts or code introduced by Microsoft. One example, widely used, is '''bgsound''' - to play soundfiles on a homepage. Bgsound is not in the standard (HTML 4.01) and therefore not supported by Mozilla.

This means that as long as the code being used on a hompage sticks with standard - Mozilla will work just fine. However many homepages does not wich is (in most cases) the simple explanation why you sometimes will not be able to use functions (log in, dropdown menus, watch videos and/or play music).

You can sometimes change the useragent to trick the homepage to think that you are using another browser than Mozilla. In order to do that you need an [http://extensionrook.mozdev.org extension]. This is just a workaround and you should write a polite letter to the admin/webmaster informing him/her that you are using a standard compliant browser and that your are having problems with the site. If changing useragent works, the browserdetection script that the site is using is most likely outdated.

The [http://validator.w3.org/ W3 Validator] is a great tool to check your own homepage (or a site that you suspect is not standard compliant).
