Why doesn't clicking an email link open my default mail client, such as Outlook Express?

Because of this, mailto: links in web pages only open in the Mozilla Mail & Newsgroups app. Likewise, web links in an email message open only in the Mozilla Browser app, and irc: links open in Chatzilla, Mozilla's Internet Relay Chat client.
