Thunderbird cannot minimize itself to the system tray.
However, users of Microsoft Windows can try using on of these solutions:
- MinimizeToTray — an extension for Thunderbird and Firefox.
- Thunderbird-Tray
- ThunderCalTray
- One of the general minimize-to-tray utilities mentioned in this thread.
If you use GNOME, KDE or XFCE, you can use kdocker.
