Nearly all of the kb articles refer to Windows menu sequences, but these sometimes differ in Linux and Mac OS X. Will list them up here and then this article can be linked in other articles where appropriate to prevent confusion or unnecessary editing of kb articles ([[Installing an SMIME certificate|example]]).
Most if not all of the knowledge base articles related to Thunderbird and Firefox refer to the menu sequences used in Windows. In the Linux and Mac versions of Thunderbird and Firefox, however, these menu sequences sometimes differ, as shown below.

The headings below describe the menu sequences in '''Windows''', with their equivalents in Linux and Mac OS X listed below for each. Will make it pretty later.

This article applies to Thunderbird and Firefox.

Most if not all of the knowledge base articles related to Thunderbird and Firefox refer to the menu sequences used in Windows. In the Linux and Mac versions of Thunderbird and Firefox, however, these menu sequences sometimes differ, as shown below.

Menu item Windows Linux Mac OS X
Options/Preferences Tools -> Options... Edit -> Preferences Thunderbird -> Preferences...
Firefox -> Preferences...
Account Settings
(Thunderbird only)
Tools -> Account Settings... Edit -> Account Settings Tools -> Account Settings...

If you come across other menu differences, feel free to add them to the table.
