Background
Users can choose to have their mail client load a given page each time the client starts. This preference keeps track of that URL.
Possible values and their effects
The URL to use as a welcome page when the mail client starts.
Thunderbird 1.5
In Thunderbird 1.5 the default value is chrome://messenger/content/start.xhtml.
Thunderbird 2.0
In Thunderbird 2.0, the default value is http://%LOCALE%.www.mozilla.com/%LOCALE%/%APP%/%VERSION%/start/, where %LOCALE%, %APP%, and %VERSION% are replaced with the value of general.useragent.locale, “thunderbird”, and the current client version, respectively.
