By default when you type a keyword into the Location Bar Firefox takes you to the top Google result for that search. However, by modifying the about:config entry keyword.URL you can change this behaviour.

Simply go to the Firefox installation directory (not the profile folder), open up the "searchplugins" directory, and then open up the "Google.src" file and add <input name="safe" value="off"> between <input name="oe" value="utf-8"> and <interpret browserResultType="result">. Then save the file and restart Firefox.
