IRC

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It is a chat protocol developed a long time ago for use with groups in need of a communications mechanism. It serves Mozilla perfectly because it is real time, it allows multiple users, bots, and all that good stuff. But before you venture into the world of IRC, there are things you should know. A good tutorial can be found on IRCHelp.org for IRC newbies (people new to IRC). After you've read that, you're ready.

Mozilla's IRC server is irc.mozilla.org (alternatively attach to moznet network). There are lots of channels there, some of them are:

• #firefox — Firefox support and Firefox-related chatter.
• #thunderbird — Same for Thunderbird.
• #mozillazine — support for the Mozilla Suite, sometimes people gather there on Bugdays.
• #mozilla — Mozilla development-related support and chatting
• #bs — off topic chat
• #wiki — Knowledge Base : IRC Channel

And if you need help, keep in mind that no one can help you if you don't tell them what you need help with. Don't ask if you can ask a question, just ask your question.
