history.dat is a file in the profile folder. The file name is incorrectly capitalized in the title of this article due to technical limitations in the software which powers the Knowledge Base.

history.dat stores browsing history. Browsing history is a list of all the pages visited within a time period defined in. It's not to be confused with session history, which controls the Back and Forward buttons, or download history, which stores history on files saved to the hard drive or opened with external programs. The History Sidebar provides an interface to view and edit this file.

Editing

Because of the complexity of the Mork storage format, it's not recommended this file be editing manually. Changes can be made through the History Sidebar.

Moving

This file can be moved to a different profile without any extra effort.

Deleting

Deleting bookmarks.html will delete your browsing history. A new file containing browsing history will be created on start up or when it is first needed.
