This article was written for Thunderbird but also applies to Mozilla Suite / SeaMonkey (though some menu sequences may differ).

The EditHTML extension lets you edit the source of a HTML message that you are composing.

Another way to do that is:

  • Highlight the contents of the existing message (Ctrl+A or Edit ->Select All).
  • Insert -> Html
  • Edit the code as desired
  • Press "Insert"

If Thunderbirds built in support for HTML editing doesn't meet your needs you could install the External editor extension and use an external editor.
