Desktop searchFrom MozillaZine Knowledge Base
Google Desktop , Copernic Desktop Search, Yahoo Desktop Search and the free version of Exalead one desktop are free desktop search tools that explicitly support Thunderbird. Windows Desktop Search doesn't but a plugin is available here. However, its a version 0.7 beta from Nov 14 2005 so its not clear whether it will ever have full functionality. ISYS , X1 professional client and Nuance Paperport are commercial products that have built-in support for Thunderbird. Due to the similarity between Eudora, Netscape, Mozilla Suite, SeaMonkey, and Thunderbird mailbox formats and profiles, most desktop search applications that support Thunderbird support those other applications too. Spotlight support for Thunderbird is part of a Google summer of code project and supposedly will be available in 3.0. However, Minova provides a private build of Thunderbird 2 with Spotlight and OSX Address Book support. There is also another Google summer of code project for integrating Thunderbird with Windows Vista Desktop Search. [edit] External links |
