Background

Firefox 3 nightlies experimented with several improvements to the Location Bar. Among them was the ability to hide the protocol (scheme) of the current URL when the Location Bar wasn’t focused. This feature was removed prior to release.

Possible values and their effects

A space-separated list of protocols. If the current URL’s protocol is in this list, it is not displayed in the Location Bar. By default this preference is an emtpy string (hide no protocols).
