Background

Firefox 2.0 introduces in-browser feed handling. In the feed preview interface, users can choose to subscribe to the feed using an application or web site. This preference determines the default handler used to process feeds.

Possible values and their effects

bookmarks

Subscribe to the feed using a Live Bookmark.

reader

Subscribe to the feed using the reader type specified in browser.feeds.handler.default.

ask

Ask the user what to use when a feed is encountered. (Default)

UI

The three options are available via “Tools → Options → Feeds → When I click on a web feed.”
