In Windows, Thunderbird is not responding. Its process takes 100 % of the processing power.

Solution

One of the index files for the mail files may be corrupted.

  1. Exit Thunderbird
  2. Find your Profile_Folder
  3. Open the "Local Folders" folder
  4. Menu "View", select "Details"
  5. Click the "Type" tab at the top of the window
  6. Select all .MSF files - these are the indexes
  7. Delete them
  8. Restart Thunderbird
  9. Wait for Thunderbird to recreate the indexes
