Symptoms
In Windows, Thunderbird is not responding. Its process takes 100 % of the processing power.
Solution
One of the index files for the mail files may be corrupted.
- Exit Thunderbird
- Find your Profile_Folder
- Open the "Local Folders" folder
- Menu "View", select "Details"
- Click the "Type" tab at the top of the window
- Select all .MSF files - these are the indexes
- Delete them
- Restart Thunderbird
- Wait for Thunderbird to recreate the indexes
