Using the Folderpane Tools extension
For Thunderbird only:
To change the order of accounts in the folders pane, try using the Folderpane Tools extension (not compatible with Thundebird 1.5 as of 12 Jan. 2005, but check the link to see if it's been updated since). Make sure to read the usage instructions carefully, and note that the account you set as the default account will be listed first in the folders pane.
Manually editing the "prefs.js" file
