Lost bookmarks

- Looks good. It's weak on describing how to find backups, however. This is where a lot of people need step-by-step handholding. At a minimum, the section does not mention how to view the bookmarks files, and that's essential. Otherwise there's a bit of guesswork and maybe trial and error. I don't know if there is any OS that shows file size and date by default. They just get a cartoon view.

- I'll take a look but I thought that Majken and Np wanted to eliminate all the "background" information and concentrate on the causes and solutions to lost bookmarks as simply as possible ..... Majken created a Bookmarks article, which now contains its own sections on "Stored bookmarks and backups" and "Opening the bookmarks file". I was thinking maybe it might be better to expand that article and just link to it instead. Alice Wyman 00:43, 24 December 2006 (UTC) P.S. I just added more detail to the "Opening the bookmarks file" section of the Bookmarks article to include the instructions you wrote in your Draft, on viewing the backup in the browser for Win2000/XP users using %APPDATA% to get to the bookmarkbackups folder. Plugins article

- I did some tweaking on that sentence, too :) .... Thank you. I appreciate someone else's point of view. I think I want this article to go in the direction of plugin diagnostics through removal or disabling of plugins, with links to the main plugin articles for information on uninstalling updating, extennsive troubleshooting, etc. When the article is done I'll link it to the Standard diagnostic - Firefox article section on plugin issues.
