[edit] because: Download errorI, too, can't install any extensions or themes. I get the "because: download error" message on firefox 1.0.2 on win XP. It did work at some time in the past as I managed to install a couple of extensions. This is on my laptop; on my desktop machine (same version/OS), it works fine.
[edit] staged-xpiI had a problem where all the sudden no extensions were installing. I would get the dialog box confirming that I wanted to install some extension and after choosing install, nothing would happen. The extension wouldn't show up in the list of extensions, the extensions.rdf file wasn't being modified. I noticed an unusual folder: staged-xpi (under $profileFolder/extensions) and I deleted all of its contents (an extension I was trying to install was listed several times in there). That seemed to take care of it.
[edit] better URLThe URL of this and other KB pages ending in a parenthesis should be changed because they are transmitted as a link without the last parenthesis in emails. I.e. the parenthesis is there but not part of the link.
[edit] Better OrganizationDownload issues strikes me as the wrong in that the first thing contained in it really isn't a download issue. I think both of these should be top level categories although not sure where to put them. There are probably a few other things that could be organized a little better. I'll probably take a look at it later, but wouldn't mind sketching out how people think it should be organized before hacking on it.--Majken 18:25, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Invalid file hashInvalid hash was removed because it's a server-side issue that's been fixed, according to bug 345505.--Np 15:20, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
