[edit] because: Download errorI, too, can't install any extensions or themes. I get the "because: download error" message on firefox 1.0.2 on win XP. It did work at some time in the past as I managed to install a couple of extensions. This is on my laptop; on my desktop machine (same version/OS), it works fine.
[edit] staged-xpiI had a problem where all the sudden no extensions were installing. I would get the dialog box confirming that I wanted to install some extension and after choosing install, nothing would happen. The extension wouldn't show up in the list of extensions, the extensions.rdf file wasn't being modified. I noticed an unusual folder: staged-xpi (under $profileFolder/extensions) and I deleted all of its contents (an extension I was trying to install was listed several times in there). That seemed to take care of it.
[edit] better URLThe URL of this and other KB pages ending in a parenthesis should be changed because they are transmitted as a link without the last parenthesis in emails. I.e. the parenthesis is there but not part of the link.
[edit] Better OrganizationDownload issues strikes me as the wrong in that the first thing contained in it really isn't a download issue. I think both of these should be top level categories although not sure where to put them. There are probably a few other things that could be organized a little better. I'll probably take a look at it later, but wouldn't mind sketching out how people think it should be organized before hacking on it.--Majken 18:25, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Invalid file hashInvalid hash was removed because it's a server-side issue that's been fixed, according to bug 345505.--Np 15:20, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thunderbird , Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey (and Sunbird)I can't find similar articles for Thunderbird, Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey. Somebody just ran into a -203 install error with Thunderbird and most of the errors in the article seem applicable to other Mozilla applications. [2] Most of the text other than the Incorrect user agent and Allowing the site to install sections seems to apply to Thunderbird. Having to deal with Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Thunderbird 2, Thunderbird 3, and SeaMonkey 2 specific paragraphs in the article might make the article hard to read. Should I create a similar article for Thunderbird? I don't mind doing that but would like to understand why the original article was made Firefox specific. I would have expected it to also cover Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey. Tanstaafl 18:54, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Renamed articleI renamed the article to remove " - Firefox" from the title and added the SeaMonkey category. Alice 10:18, 31 October 2009 (UTC) |
