[edit] Article categoryUser:Dmcritchie, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to categorize this article ... It doesn't seem to be about the Location Bar or Preferences, which are the two categories that are indicated. Category:Extensions (Firefox) is the closest I can figure, although it is also about external applications that handle the clipboard content. Side by side and other alignments and comparisons is another of your articles that I had problems figuring out but at least its categories made sense (sort of). Alice 20:47, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
How about simply Category:Websites? There seems to be a lot of difficult to categorize articles that involve working with web pages in there. I'll add it that category, for the time being. I don't want to get into creating new categories for now. Alice 13:07, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Article title and introWhat about working on a better title and introductory sentence, too? "Plain Text and Other Documentation Copy and Paste" as a title is not that clear as to what the article is about, and neither is the intro sentence, Documentation aids of displayed text, source, and tabs as might be needed in email, HTML, and other documentation as plain text or other documentation formatted code. Besides, the article's name needs to be changed anyway because it doesn't conform to Article naming conventions (you shouldn't capitalize all main words). I would suggest a better title but to tell the truth, I can't figure out the main point of the article. Alice 21:45, 8 August 2010 (UTC) I took a shot and edited the intro, then I renamed the article. Hope I got the main point right. Alice 23:30, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand what you mean by "documentation". I looked up documentation at wiktionary.org and it has this: 1. Something transposed from a thought to a document; the written account of an idea. 2. (computing) Documents that explain the operation of a particular software program. That feature is not in the documentation. Anyway, how about naming it, "Tools for copying text and other content from web pages" or, if you want to limit it to copying text, "Tools for copying text from web pages"? You said, Documentation includes use of and creation of links, references, and citations as well as content. but I don't think most people would think of that when you use the word "documentation". Anyway, I've renamed the article "Tools for copying text and other content from web pages" since it better describes the content of the article. Alice 12:29, 3 September 2010 (UTC) |
