Talk:Multiple identities per e-mail account

There is a caveat here. I have a couple of Thawte Freemail digital certificates (free) for my managed identities. It is not possible to associate a digital certificate to each identity. Digital certs are only associated with the account (IMAP/POP). So if you change identities, you will have to reassociate the digital cert you want to use.

Stuff removed

I removed:

If you configure each identity in all of the accounts then you can ignore what account you're in when sending as long as each account is configured to use a SMTP server that uses SMTP authentication (to eliminate any external dependencies).

Thunderbird will list every known identity in the From drop down list even if you're not configured to use them for that account. This can result in Thunderbird using the accounts default preferences instead. You can avoid this potential problem by configuring every identity in each account.

because I have no idea what it means. It seems to be a workaround for a problem that no longer exists. If the problems still exists, then it needs an example to make clear what the problem really is.
