I am on some listservs whose messages include many little attachments. The problem is that within Thunderbird, the entire read-mail frame is filled with the list of attachments and therefore leaving no space to view the actual message. There should be a way to "turn off" the listing of MIME-attached files or at least limit the landscape of the list to a scrollable box. If there's an existing trick then I haven't found it.

I've gutted this article after finding that at least some sentences were lifted with little or no alteration from section 2.9 of http://www.fookes.com/mailbag/mailbag.pdf (copyrighted material). If someone wants to substantially rewrite/rephrase what I've removed or otherwise expand upon what's currently in the article, then go ahead. --Wintogreen 23:33, 11 Apr 2005 (PDT)
