Talk:Pane and menu fonts

Because it deals with message/folder panes, this article currently applies only to Thunderbird and the Mozilla Suite. However, it could easily be rewritten to include CSS tweaks for Firefox UI fonts as well. Just list the code for each application under separate headers. --Wintogreen 09:18, 6 Apr 2005 (PDT)

For users upgrading from 1.5 to 2.0 (or from 1.8.0.x to 1.8.1.x for any other Mozilla application) on non-Windows systems, it may come as a surprise that the appearance and especially the size of the pane and menu fonts changed. A frequent reason may be that browser.display.screen_resolution was set before to some given value (usually 96dpi), but is not carried over into layout.css.dpi during the upgrade, thus the system default is used (which may be inadequate). Using the configuration editor to copy the value into layout.css.dpi restores the old appearance. This issue is likely too specific, thus I didn't include it into the Points vs. Pixels section of the article. --Rsx11m 15:23, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
