  • High CPU usage - not the same thing as a hang. (more info)
    • The "more info" forum thread appears to be covered by this section of the Macromedia Flash article. Are there any other "High CPU" examples you can give that don't involve Flash?
      • Looks like this bug is one for sure.
      • Not off the top of my head, but I have seen this question several times. We might as well start an article with that solution in it. --name already taken 20:33, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Here's another forum post on the "waking from standby" issue potentially caused by Flash, except that it's described here as a "hang". The Firefox hangs article also mentions this issue here. <snip> Alice Wyman 00:21, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

The article is correct as written, but Flash is not the only culprit. I have seen many sites that chew up the CPU if JS is enabled. --AnotherGuest. 12 Jan 07

I added two categories since it has none. Normal practice is to always specify a category, and if one of them is issues, to also make certain its also in a non-issues category. I suggest the author make this article more generic and also apply to SeaMonkey and Mozilla Suite. You wouldn't have to change the title.

Would it make sense to suggest using the NoScript extension if the user frequently runs into this problem and they need to enable Javascript on certain web sites? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/722/ Tanstaafl 00:56, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
