Background

Mozilla stores signon information (usernames and passwords) in an encrypted file in the profile folder. When bug 396316 was fixed, the file format changed. To avoid compatibility problems with the old format, the file and the preference controlling its name were given new names. This preference controls the name of the signon information file.
