Background

Firefox 3 experimented with several improvements to the Location Bar. Among them was a different visual appearance when the Location Bar was focused. (The most notable was hiding the current protocol when the Location Bar was defocused.) This preference determined whether to transition between the two display states with a fade. This feature was removed prior to release.
