Background
In conjunction with several other improvements to tabbed browsing in Firefox 2.0, close buttons were added to tabs. These appear on the right or left side of the tab, depending on your OS. However, a user may accidentally press the close tab button when switching between tabs; this preference will disable (but not hide) the close button on background tabs.
Possible values and their effects
True
Clicking on the close tab button of a tab in the background will switch to that tab, not close it.
False
Clicking on the close tab button of a tab in the background will close the tab, and the current tab will remain in the foreground. (Default)
